Hi Brian, I always seem to be in France at the end of the Tour de France. I watch them take down the bleachers in Paris.... This is a great graphic and will be a part of the feature for the Bicycle Group!

Brian Carson replied:

Hey Joan! You always just seem to be there??!? LOL, I am soooooooooooo jealous. That is one of the stops on my ultimate dream vacation, to be in Paris on the last day of the race. Would be wonderful. Thanks so much for consideration for the feature.

Artist's Description

I did this design for 2 reasons.

First, I have become a huge fan of Otl Aicher. Aicher was the head of the design team that created the graphics for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich Germany. The simplicity of the pictograms defined the term 'Universal Language' and have become the basis for public signs all over the world.

Second, on July 24 2011, Cadel Evans rode into the streets of Paris wearing the prestigious yellow jersey of The Tour de France. After 21 stages over 23 days, Evans became the first Australian to win the race. A very impressive win in one of the toughest routes of the Tour's history.

One in a series of tributes to probably the greatest annual sporting event on the planet.

Vive le Tour.
